Sunday Morning Haiku

I haven’t written any haiku for a while so I thought I’d try some this morning.

white breasted nuthatch

circus performer

hanging upside down

venus morning star

goddess on a mountain top

when no one else can

snowflakes falling

in the morning misty air

restless for spring

snowy tailed squirrel

and birds flocking to feed

insistent habits

masked and distant

we await better days

together alone
