With a blanket around her shoulders
she stares out the front screen door.
She says, “It’s all gone now, it’s all gone.”
The years of fighting the darkness.
The blanket slips away and as she leaves
through the front door she doesn’t
feel the grass tickle her feet.
She has never felt this good before,
and as she fades into the bright mist she says
“It’s all gone now. All gone.”
