Diminutive Mars, red in his arrogance
and anger, threatening war upon the
land, is not tempered by beautiful
Venus, however brightly she shines.
And Jupiter, God of Gods, indifferent,
caring for neither, has his own woes.
The God of Abraham a mere placebo
to the Roman Gods so visible
in the early morning sky.
As Mercury, on winged feet arrives
to herald the coming of Sol,
This God of light breaches the
horizon as I cast my gaze on
the waters of the lake to see
Mars there, indignant in his
wrath as he and the others
fade to light.
