Gaza Font, commemoration by design

Adding to the mediums of art, performance and literature, Gaza Font presents an innovative way of practising resistance through fonts that can be used online or downloaded.

Via their website a letter or number can be entered, leading to an image and account from Gaza; in this case, ‘A’ reveals a snippet view of the case of Abraj Nada:

Launched earlier this month in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, As-Safir and BiZAROOB established the ‘GAZA Put Into Words’ campaign in a bid to transcend the numbers and words that accompany coverage of the conflict.

The aim is to reveal the hidden stories, protagonists and everyday acts of resistance that mark the area, and in the process provide a unique form of commemoration via the online medium.
