The Price

What price I pay for not having said the right words?
Pride and prejudice take their toll.
Opportunity presents itself and I fail.

To be sorry is to admit fault.
To say I was weak and foolish,
means I gave in to my desire.

What price I pay for saying the right words?
Truth can be hard to accept.
To feel and to know truth can be a burden.

Relationships can be fragile,
can be hurt. To say or not to say
what I feel can make or break.

What price we all pay for things
we have said or done. The wages of sin
are not known until the bill is due.
