Night Music

music_staff
Night comes with silent wings,black
on black with a starry background.
Fluttering in the air
like a conductors baton.

Bullfrogs at the waters edge
croak low like double basses.
Their strings long and thick
and full of energy.

Mid Summer Cicadas drone
like Cellos and Violas.
The middle section strings
for the body of the music.

Unknown insects in the field;
the high pitch of Violins
playing the melody as
the tune moves along.

Crickets solo as Flutes
and Piccolos. Their pitch
rising and crescendo the
night with sound.

Finally, the coyotes howl
the Brass. Trumpets loud
and long sear the moonless
sky. There is nothing
finer than Night Music.
